The assessment includes vision tests and examinations to detect defects in the visual system functionality and assessing the eyes’ ability to collect their things and details effectively. Assessments of vision may also include examining the ability of eyes receiving and distinguishing colors. They include tests such as visual acuity, refraction, visual tests, and testing of color perception. A test acuity is usually held to determine the problems of farsightedness or nearsightedness, and to decide whether the patient would need glasses or contact lenses to improve vision. This test is often done after the patient suffers any sort of eye damage or after the renewal of a driver ’s permit and to meet specific conditions of employment.

The frequency of routine checks may vary according to age of individuals.
